Autobody Technician

CarrXpert Port Hawkesbury Collision Centre is looking for a highly energetic and self-motivated individual to join our team. We are accepting applications from both Autobody Journeyman technicians, Autobody Apprentices, or individuals with a general knowledge of Auto Body repair willing to undertake in shop training towards their Autobody Journeyman license.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • The individual is responsible for the accurate and timely repair of automotive body damage caused by collision, weather, and other incidents.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
  • Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
  • Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
  • Notifies management of any additional repairs needed that are not indicated on the work order.
  • Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair, informs management of any items in disrepair and participates in remedial action.
  • Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer and in conjunction with SOPs and policies.
  • Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Journeyman Certificate or Apprenticeship (not required, but an asset).
  • An interest in automotive body and/or mechanical repair is considered an asset.
  • Self-motivated with ability to deliver results.
  • Valid driver’s license.
